M&W Alaskan 12 Mile Summit 3.5” Fixed Blade Hunter / Stabilized Wenge / Stonewashed S30V
M&W Alaskan is a local knife maker based in Anchorage, Alaska. A recent collaboration between veteran knife makers and quickly making a name for M&W Alaskan with their classic designs that have modern fit and finish.
This particular M&W hunter is named for the launching off point for most subsistence caribou hunters in Alaska. 12 Mile Summit, located almost ninety miles North of Fairbanks along the Old Steese Highway has breathtaking views, impossibly high peaks and tundra dotted with taiga forests. Thousands of caribou migrate across this great plain each year in search of warmer weather and food as winter approaches and frost creeps in.
This knife tries to encapsulate what these hunters need in this rugged environment. A fine recurve edge helps slice through tough hide and connective tissues, while the perfectly heat and cryo treated S30V steel offers fantastic edge and abrasion resistance with no fear of rust. The no thrills simple stabilized wenge handle offers a sure classic grip. We wanted to offer a lifetime hunting knife for those who really do depend on this hunt every year and we all here feel we have arisen to the challenge.
All M&W Alaskan knives are made end to end in Alaska and are warrantied and sharpened for life.
